About Us

A home with a story,
beautifully lived in.

Carefully crafted pieces designed with warmth, texture and personality. Made to bring a bit of whimsy and charm into your everyday rituals.

Who we are

Birthed in whimsy, deeply African

We believe that homeware is an extension of the self. Our ceramics, rugs and beddings are inspired by African shapes, forms and stories, purposefully made to bring beauty, softness and a little strangeness into ordinary days.

Designed in-house, made by hand, purposefully slow.

I

Beauty belongs in the everyday.

Not saved for guests. Or kept behind glass. The bowl you eat garri from should be worth looking at.

II

Minimal is not the only good taste.

We make things with shape, colour and a point of view, and we don’t apologise for any of it.

III

Our stories are the design.

African shapes, forms and stories aren’t a theme we borrow. They’re where every piece begins.

IV

The hand stays in.

We keep the marks.

V

Slow, on purpose.

Clay can’t be rushed without it showing. So we don’t rush it.

VI

For worldbuilders

We don’t invent a world for you to escape to. We add a layer to the one you’ve built.

VII

Something lives in it.

Every object should feel a little alive. If it doesn’t, it isn’t finished.

(Our House)

Three chapters. One written.

We are writing a house, one thing at a time.

The waitlist

Two more things are waking up.

Rugs tufted after a grove that went quiet. Bedding in five states of water. Tap Wake me on the one to warn you about. Or both?

Nothing picked yet. Tap Wake me on a chapter, or just leave your email and we'll write about both.

A note from our founder

"I use the bowls to eat garri lol"

I am an artist, so I make things. Before Inkan that meant rugs, sculpture, felting, animation etc

Inkan is where all of it comes home, into objects you can actually use.
